“When all you feel is light” is a painting about the state of the heart. This beautiful peacock is holding a lantern giving the viewer a chance to take a brief look. The peacock has found a place to rest. Before continuing on it’s journey. It is guided by the ever present moon. Looking after those who dwell in the softness of her light. The background colours remind of fallen leaves in the bush. Slightly damp with rich smells of the forest.
The peacock is a possessor of some of the most admired human characteristics, and is a symbol of integrity and the beauty we can achieve when we endeavor to show our true colors.
Similar to Lakshmi*, the Peacock is associated with Kwan-yin* in Asian spirituality. Kwan-yin (or Quan Yin) is also an emblem of love, compassionate watchfulness, good-will, nurturing, and kind-heartedness.
*Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage; and the embodiment of beauty, grace and charm.
*Kwan-yin or Quan Yin, is known as the Goddess of Compassion & Healing. She is one of the most popular deities in all of Asia. Her name in Chinese roughly translates as "The One who hears the Cries of the World". She is the most beloved and revered of the Chinese dieties. Kuan Yin is the Divine Mother we all long for: merciful, tender, compassionate, loving, protecting, caring, healing, and wise. She quietly comes to the aid of her children everywhere.
My Personal Collection is a body of work that I've built up over the years as investment pieces for my own collection. I aim to keep a piece from every exhibition that is an important piece to me. Not all pieces in my collection is listed on here. Some pieces also available in this collection have done their rounds through the galleries and will only be available online.
